The National e-Governance Division (NeGD) under India's Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has selected six technology companies to implement artificial intelligence solutions across central and state government departments. The empanelled firms include CoRover Pvt. Ltd., Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), NEC Corporation India, Innefu Labs Ltd., Kyndryl Solutions Pvt. Ltd., and Cactus Technology Solutions Pvt. Ltd. (CTSPL). The selection followed a competitive process involving nearly 80 bidders.

Framework for Accelerated AI Adoption

This initiative creates a pre-approved pool of AI implementation partners for public sector projects, designed to reduce procurement delays. Government entities can now directly engage these firms for consulting, development, and deployment without issuing separate tenders for each AI initiative. The empanelment remains valid for two years, with an optional one-year extension available to the government.

Scope of Work and Technical Focus

The selected companies will handle the complete AI lifecycle, including strategy formulation, solution development, machine learning model creation, and intelligent document processing. Their responsibilities extend to citizen service automation, analytics, workflow optimization, and technical support. CoRover brings expertise in conversational AI and multilingual virtual assistants, having previously developed BharatGPT and deployed AI platforms for various organizations. TCS contributes its extensive experience in large-scale government technology implementations. The other selected firms offer complementary capabilities in enterprise AI solutions and infrastructure support.
